David Polanco Ascanio – Legal Assistant
As the legal assistant to Emilia Coto at Sisu Legal Immigration, I help guide clients through the immigration process with clarity, empathy, and attention to detail. I’ve been part of the firm since November 2024, bringing nearly a decade of legal experience as an internationally trained lawyer from Venezuela and a background in contract law, administrative procedures, and human rights. I became a lawyer because I know what it’s like to face difficult experiences without guidance, and one of my missions is to help others so they don’t face the journey alone.
At Sisu Legal, I prepare forms, draft documents, gather client information, conduct intake meetings, and bridge communication between our clients and the lead lawyer. My bilingual skills in English and Spanish allow me to help clients navigate legal processes in the language they feel most comfortable using.
My path into immigration law began as a way to expand my knowledge and test my abilities in a new field, but it has since become a true passion. I approach every case from a human perspective first, making sure clients feel understood and supported before addressing the paperwork.
